NS1 Integration Guide

NS1 helps you to optimize network resource management, network services automation, application delivery, and intelligent application traffic steering with Traffic Intelligence and Automation portfolio.

What can Zenduty do for NS1 users?

With NS1's Integration, Zenduty sends new NS1 alerts to the right team and notifies them based on on-call schedules via email, text messages(SMS), phone calls(Voice), Slack, Microsoft Teams and iOS & Android push notifications, and escalates alerts until the alert is acknowledged or closed. Zenduty provides your NOC, SRE and application engineers with detailed context around the NS1 alert along with playbooks and a complete incident command framework to triage, remediate and resolve incidents with speed.

You can also use Alert Rules to custom route specific NS1 alerts to specific users, teams or escalation policies, write suppression rules, auto add notes, responders and incident tasks.

To integrate NS1 with Zenduty, complete the following steps:

In Zenduty:

  1. To add a new NS1 integration, go to Teams on Zenduty and click on the team you want to add the integration to.
  2. Next, go to Services and click on the relevant Service.
  3. Go to Integrations and then Add New Integration. Give it a name and select the application NS1 from the dropdown menu.
  4. Go to Configure under your Integrations and copy the Webhook URL generated.

In NS1:

  1. Sign in NS1.

  2. Go to Monitors > Notifier Lists. Create a new notifier list or edit existing monitors.

  3. In Notifier List click on Add a new notifier. Select Webhook as Notifier Type and Paste the webhook URL which copied from Zenduty. Add webhook notifier to notifier lists.

  4. Go to Monitors. Create new Monitor or open existing monitor. Go to Notifications. In Notification settings select the Notifire List in which you have created Webhook notifier in previous step. Keep Notifiy failback selected to auto resolve incident.

  5. NS1 is now integrated with Zenduty. Zenduty will create an incident for each time when Monitor state changes from Up to Down and auto-resolve the incident when state changes from Down to Up.
